PUT SOMETHING IN by Shel Silverstein

Paraphrase

If you don’t take action you won’t make progress. You shouldn’t just believe. You have to act.

Attitude

I feel encouraged to follow my dreams. The attitude of the poem is encouraging and inspiring.

 Shift

I think the shift is when he says “That ain’t been there before,” because you have to be creative. You can’t just go steal other people's original idea. Invent new things.

Opinion

I actually love this poem, I love it because it’s positive and encouraging. It shows that you can invent new things. It encourages you to act instead of being lazy. Just because you aren’t a professional engineer doesn’t mean you can’t create things.

 Recommendation

Yes, I would recommend this to my friends because I think it will encourage them.
